Sprinklers make the difference in arson incident at jewelry store (Fresno, CA)

On Tuesday, June 3, a fire was intentionally set in the basement of a building that housed a jewelry store. Arriving firefighters found that three fires had been started and extinguished by the building’s fire sprinkler system; the gas line had also been cut. Fresno Fire Department Koby Johns said that it was very fortunate that the building was equipped with a fire sprinkler system. 

No injuries were reported.

Warehouse fire squelched thanks to sprinklers and fire crews (Oakland, CA)

A warehouse caught fire when a 23-cubic foot refrigerator inside of the building ignited early Thursday morning. The sprinkler system activated on the fire, and this quick action combined with the arriving firefighters response contained the fire within 20 minutes. There were no injuries. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Sprinklers assist firefighters to put out potential arson fire (Fresno, CA)

Fire crews responded to a reported fire at about 4 a.m. on Saturday morning to discover broken glass in its front windows and two small fires in the front and back of the building. The restaurant’s fire sprinkler system had contained the fire to their ignition spots, and firefighters were able to put out the rest. No injuries were reported in the incident.



Fire at multi-business building contained by sprinkler system (Folsom, CA)

A fire began in the electrical box at a restaurant on Sunday morning. Employees of the restaurant, which shares a building with several other businesses, were able to evacuate safely. According to the fire crews at the scene, the building’s fire sprinklers activated on the fire, preventing the damage to the building from being much worse. No injuries were reported.

Fire crews responded to a mid-morning fire at a commercial building on Tuesday, March 4. Upon arrival, they discovered that the fire had been eliminated by a single sprinkler head.
