Fire sprinklers save popular movie theater, no injuries reported (Lexington, KY)

A fire broke out inside the Movie Tavern off Richmond Road in Lexington, forcing everyone out of the building.  Firefighters were called to the scene around noon. When they arrived, they found a fire in the office on the first floor.  The sprinkler system already had most of the fire contained by the time crews got there, but everyone in the building was evacuated as a precaution.

Fire sprinklers credited with extinguishing hotel fire (Kiawah Island, SC)

Guests who were staying at the Sanctuary Hotel were evacuated when a fire began in the hotel’s storage room. The sprinkler system extinguished the fire keeping the damage to that single room. No injuries were reported.  


Fire sprinkler system contains manufacturing plant blaze (Auburn, ME)

An afternoon fire that began in one of the processing machines at a fabric manufacturing plant was limited by the building’s fire sprinkler system. Firefighters arrived soon thereafter to douse the remaining flames. “This is exactly what should have been done,” Fire Chief Frank Roma stated. No one was reported injured as a result of the incident.

Apartment saved thanks to fire sprinklers (Concord, CA)

Fire crews who responded to a mid-day apartment fire found it largely extinguished thanks to the unit’s fire sprinklers. The fire, which started in the apartment’s kitchen, was deemed under control within fifteen minutes, and no injuries were reported in connection with the fire. “Fire sprinklers saved lives and property today.” the Contra Costa Fire Protection’s Twitter feed stated.

Fire sprinkler system suppresses elementary school fire (Milwaukie, OR)

Clackamas Fire Units were dispatched to Linwood Elementary School to a report of a fire in the building. Crews quickly arrived to find that a small fire had occurred in the bathroom and was quickly extinguished by the fire sprinkler system. All students made it out of the building safely and no injuries were reported. Clackamas Fire Investigators have determined that the fire was intentionally set. The fire damage in this case was limited due to the early detection and extinguishment by the fire sprinkler system that was in place.
