Strip mall saved from extensive damage thanks to fire sprinkler (Lakewood, NJ)

Fire and rescue responded to reports of a fire in one of the buildings in a strip mall. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the eaves of the building and fire inside it, which was controlled to one area by the suite’s fire sprinkler. According to fire crews, had the building not had a fire sprinkler system installed, the damage to that building would have been much greater and would most likely have affected the other four businesses in the strip mall as well. According to reports, there were no injuries.

Fire sprinklers help firefighters control blaze at home goods store (Chula Vista, CA)

A customer was able to catch a video of the fire that grew up the racks of a home goods store the afternoon of July 2nd. Investigators, however, are still unsure of what caused the blaze that was doused thanks to fire sprinklers and fire crews. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are saying that the two fires that began at a dollar store Wednesday, June 12 were intentionally set. The store’s fire sprinklers quickly put out the fires, and no one was injured.

Fire investigators suspect arson was the cause of a fire that broke out in a grocery store on the afternoon of May 31. The grocery store’s fire sprinkler system quickly squelched the fire, limiting the damage. No injuries were reported.

When a fire that began in the microwave in the back of a clothing store inside Red Cliffs Mall, a fire sprinkler soon activated to stop the fire before the six fire engine crew arrived. No injuries were reported from the blaze.

Fire sprinklers suppress arson fire at retail store (Fort Pierce, FL)

Fire officials are ruling the cause of a fire that started in the early afternoon at a retail store as arson. The fire started in the paper products aisle, and the fire sprinkler kicked on to keep the fire in control until fire crews arrived. 

“The fire sprinklers did exactly what they were supposed to do. If it wasn’t for the fire sprinklers, there would have been more extensive damage,” Fire District Captain Derek Foxx said.

Fire sprinklers eliminate automotive repair shop fire (Hoover, AL)

Fire crews arrived to an early afternoon fire that began in a paint booth of an automotive repair shop. The shop’s fire sprinkler system doused the flames, and no injuries were reported. 

“This is a good example of what sprinklers do,” Hoover fire Executive Officer Rusty Lowe said. “These prevented a fire from becoming a lot larger and causing more damage and perhaps even injuries.”

An early morning fire that brought police officers and fire crews to the scene was limited to the furniture store’s office and storage area thanks to the building’s fire sprinklers. Police are reporting that the store’s front door was damaged leading them to believe that the fire was deliberately set. No injuries have been reported.
