A fire damaged a restaurant in Branson on Wednesday night.
Firefighters arrived at Doc’s Hickory Roadhouse on State Highway 165 around 11:30 p.m. The fire activated the sprinkler heads before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters say nobody was injured in the fire. The Branson Fire Department received help from the Southern Stone and Western Taney County Fire Protection Districts, along with Branson Police and Taney County paramedics.
Around 8:00 a.m., firefighters were called to El Rosal Restaurant in the 3100 block of West
Noble Avenue for a fire alarm.
Once on scene, officials say crews made entry to the restaurant and discovered smoke inside.
Officials say the fire was found in the attic and was contained by the sprinkler system.
There was also a report of a person on the roof, but nobody was found.
No injuries were reported and officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation
According to officials with Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue, the sprinkler system worked perfectly, and it came on and put-out the fire.
Firefighters used fans to clear smoke from the building.
A Manchester restaurant will be closed for repairs after a fire broke out early Saturday morning.
Firefighters responded to La Plazita de Mofongo, located at 425 Broad St., about 12:18 a.m Saturday and found fire and smoke throughout the restaurant, according to the Manchester Fire Department.
Firefighters found that a sprinkler system had partially extinguished a blaze in the kitchen. The rest of the fire was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported, the fire department said.
The restaurant, billed as “a little part of Puerto Rico located in the heart of Manchester” on its social media pages, will be closed until repairs can be made.
“Dear customers, I regret to inform you that we will be closed at the moment for reasons beyond our control,” the restaurant team said in a statement on their Facebook page.
“Thank you for your support and we will work hard to open and provide you with the service and quality you deserve,” the statement said.
The fire marshal’s office was investigating the fire.
Firefighters are investigating a commercial structure fire early Wednesday in downtown Santa Rosa.
The Santa Rosa Fire Department said the blaze, which was first reported shortly before 12:45 a.m., occurred in the 500 block of Fourth Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters found water coming from both floors of a two-story brick building that houses various businesses, the department said.
The blaze was raised to a two-alarm assignment after firefighters noticed a fire alarm was sounding inside the building and that windows of a second-floor establishment were stained with smoke, indicating there was fire inside.
Firefighters had to force their way into a stairway leading to the second floor, according to the fire department. Crews then found the fire inside the Thai House restaurant, just being checked by a sprinkler head that activated.
After firefighters extinguished the fire and cleared the area, they forced their way into Belly Left Coast Kitchen and Tap Room on the first floor, directly below where the blaze had started in the Thai House restaurant.
There was no smoke or fire from the first-floor establishment, but significant amounts of water were pouring down from the floor above it, the fire department said.
No injuries were reported by firefighters.
Only the Thai House restaurant and Belly Left Coast Kitchen and Tap Room were the building’s establishments damaged by the fire, according to the department, which added that the damage was estimated to be $150,000. Both businesses will be closed for an indefinite period.
The fire department noted the working fire sprinkler system prevented the flames from spreading throughout the building.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, even though it looks accidental, according to firefighters.
Crews responded to a kitchen fire about 9:45 p.m. and found smoke coming from the roof of the building.
Firefighters say the fire was coming from a gas appliance in the kitchen area.
They shut off gas to the building, extinguished the fire and made sure everyone got out safely.
The restaurant’s sprinkler system activated, helping knock down the fire, according Jason Rhodes, a spokesperson for the Overland Park Fire Department.
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen area, however because the sprinkler system activated, cleanup and repairs will be required.
The Overland Park Fire Department says the restaurant will likely be closed for those repairs.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
A building fire was reported around 6:50 a.m. at the Renaissance on Paradise Road south of Desert Inn Road, Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Warren Whitney said in a statement.
The first arriving engine investigated and found the room where the fire alarm was activated. They found a “light ballast” that malfunctioned and caught fire.
A fire sprinkler nearby activated and put out the fire before the crews made it to the room, according to Whitney.
The fire did not spread to anything else and no injuries were reported. Damage has not yet been estimated.
Ocala Fire Rescue in Ocala, Florida — located some 80 miles northwest of Orlando — received a call Tuesday at approximately 3:24 a.m. to reports of a structure fire at the Hilton Ocala hotel located on 3600 SW 36th Ave.
“Units arrived at the nine-story hotel to find audible and visual alarms, an active sprinkler system, and Ocala Police Department members assisting guests in evacuating the premises,” Ocala Fire Rescue said in a statement on social media.
Firefighters encountered “moderate smoke” as they entered the lobby of the hotel and began to make their way down a first-floor hallway near the banquet rooms to try and find the source of the fire which was worsening as they approached, authorities said.
“Using a thermal imaging camera, crews located the seat of the fire,” Ocala Fire Rescue said. “In conjunction with the sprinkler system, crews used a water can to smother the flames, which consumed a couch and scorched an adjacent wall.”
The fire was extinguished entirely within seven minutes of arrival, officials said, but given the deliberate nature of the blaze, the Ocala Police Department treated the fire as arson.
Following a brief investigation, Ocala Police ended up arresting a 16-year-old girl who was visiting from Peoria, Illinois. Police said she allegedly started the fire after fighting with her mother, though authorities did not say what caused the fight and what could have led her to allegedly set a sofa on fire in the building because of it.
“The damage to the hotel is estimated to be a couple hundred thousand dollars,” Ocala Police said. “Thankfully, no one was injured … and hotel guests were able to return to their rooms the same morning.”
Authorities credited an effective evacuation plan carried out by hotel staff in the early hours of the morning for helping to keep the situation under control and the estimated 320 guests safe.
The teenage girl has been charged with arson and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
A restaurant and bar in the northern valley is damaged after a fire started in the building.
The Grand Forks Fire Department was called to the Crooked Pint Ale House on S. Columbia Rd. around 10:42 p.m. on Sunday, July 23.
Authorities say they saw smoke coming from the back of the building and could hear the sprinkler system going off. Firefighters eventually found the fire started on top of the coolers and spread to parts of the ceiling.
Officials say they put out the fire quickly, but some fire damage was already done to parts of the restaurant and most of the building had some smoke damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the business will remain closed until repairs can be made.
No one was injured in the fire.
Assistant Fire Chief Mike McIntosh said in a news release that GFFR received a water flow alarm at 9:25pm, and Engine 4 arrived at the scene at 9:32pm.
Firefighters saw people vacating the hotel, but they did not see any visible smoke or fire.
Firefighters discovered that a small fire occurred in room 318. The fire started in a nightstand located next to a bed, which was close to an exterior wall.
The fire had generated enough heat to activate the building’s fire sprinkler system, which functioned as designed, and quickly extinguished the fire.
The fire damage to the room was minimal, but there was significant water damage to the second and third floors.
Hotel management was able to move the majority of guests affected by the water from the sprinkler system to other rooms within the hotel; one guest was relocated to another hotel.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, and restoration crews are are continuing to assess the damage.
The occupant of room 318 could not be located when GFFR and Great Falls police officers were at the scene of the fire. They have tried to contact the room occupant, but have not yet been successful.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. We will update you if we get more information.
