Plover, WI – Late night electrical fire at restaurant extinguished with help from sprinkler system

An electrical fire was contained to the kitchen at Bamboo House in Plover on Thursday night.  Plover Fire Chief Mark Deaver said the sprinkler system in the building was to thank for everything that was saved during the incident, in which no one was injured.

The metro fire team, consisting of units from the Plover, Stevens Point and Hull fire departments, responded at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday. Crews were on scene for about two hours, Deaver said. The fire took about 10 minutes to extinguish after firefighters arrived on the scene.

Deaver said the investigation is ongoing but that the building remained intact and suffered no structural damage.

Riverside, CA – Sprinkler system helps control fire at sushi restaurant

Firefighters responded to Sushi Station at 19029 Van Buren Blvd. shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.  Smoke was coming from the rear of the restaurant and the building’s sprinkler system was active,  the Riverside Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post. A restaurant employee said it will likely be closed for a couple of days while the damage is repaired.

Lincolnshire, IL – Christmas day fire at restaurant controlled by sprinkler system

No one was injured, but many Christmas dinner plans were altered by a small kitchen fire at Wildfire Steaks, Chops & Seafood restaurant in Lincolnshire around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Barrhaven, ON, Canada – Fire at irish pub extinguished with help from sprinkler system

A fire at the yet-to-open Heart & Crown in Barrhaven on the evening of Dec. 5, was doused by the building’s sprinkler system and mainly extinguished by the time firefighters arrived, the Ottawa fire department said.  Oily rags that were not discarded properly self combusted, sparking the fire just after 7 p.m., according to the fire department.

Vernon, BC, Canada – Suspicious overnight fire at restaurant extinguished by sprinkler system

Police and the Vernon Fire Department are looking into the cause of a suspicious fire at the New Delhi Restaurant in Vernon.  Deputy fire chief Lawrie Skolrood says the fire started inside the building sometime before 3:15 a.m. when the building’s sprinkler system went off and triggered an alarm.

Firefighters forced their way into the building by busting open the front doors, but by the time they got there, the fire was already out.  “The sprinklers did actually put out the fire. It’s lucky they were up and working for sure,” Skolrood says.

Visalia, CA – Sprinklers control fire at mall restaurant helping to minimize damage

Firefighters responded around 6:15 a.m. to the Sequoia Mall on south Mooney Boulevard after  maintenance workers called 911 to report a fire at the PHO KC Noodle and Rice Vietnamese restaurant. A sprinkler installed inside the mall managed to extinguish most of the fire and firefighters checked for flames in nearby areas of the mall.

Tulare County Environmental Health was called to evaluate total damage to the restaurant. Fire officials estimated the damage at $7,000 to the structure and about $1,000 to the contents of the restaurant. They estimated that $6.2 million was saved by fire sprinklers.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a small fan in the kitchen that was left on and malfunctioned overnight.

Hempfield, PA – Sprinkler system activates, assists firefighters in fire at Olive Garden restaurant

The Olive Garden Italian restaurant along Route 30 in Hempfield was damaged by a kitchen fire late Wednesday night that spewed smoke through the building, emergency responders said.

The fire, which was reported at 11:36 p.m., started in the kitchen, went up a kitchen wall and spread into the ceiling, Bovard fire Chief Greg Saunders said.

The first responders were able to knock it down quickly, Saunders said. The building’s sprinkler system also sprayed water on the fire.

Augusta, GA – Sprinkler system assists firefighters in overnight fire at Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant

The fire at Buffalo Wild Wings on Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway is now out according to fire crews on scene.  A delivery man dropping off food discovered the building filled with smoke and called the fire department around 3:45 a.m., fire officials on scene told News 12.

No one was hurt, but there is water and smoke damage. The sprinkler system was activated before the fire department got on scene, officials said.  Lt. Neal Brown says they believe the fire is electrical.

East Brunswick, NJ – Sprinklers control fire at Olive Garden restaurant, Minimize damage

3:26 a.m. Nov. 23. Emergency personnel responded to an early morning fire at Olive Garden. The small fire started in a light fixture on the roof above an employee bathroom, Fire Marshal John Talbot said.  Talbot credited the fire companies and sprinkler system with extinguishing the fire quickly.  The business was cleared to open Monday, he said.

Sprinkler system limits damage in restaurant fire (Pemberton Township, NJ)

The Best Buffet Chinese restaurant on Broadway will be temporarily closed because of an early morning fire, officials said Tuesday. The blaze began about 2 a.m. Tuesday when several boxes on top of a walk-in freezer caught fire, fire Chief Craig Augustoni said. It was contained by a sprinkler system and caused mostly smoke damage. An investigation into the cause determined the fire was accidental and likely caused by a compressor, Augustoni said.
