The fire was called in at approximately 12:00 PM and CSFD responded with a limited amount of units to the scene.
CSFD was able to get the fire under control and quickly put it out due to the building’s sprinkler system keeping the fire in check until firefighters got there.
There were no injuries reported and the reason for the fire is still being investigated at this time.
The department says the call came in at 4:47 p.m. stating there was a fire on the 4th floor. Officials say the fire is out now.
The sprinkler system activate and hotel guests were evacuated.
The fire was contained to one room. Firefighters are clearing the smoke out and checking rooms to make sure there was no extension of the fire.
There have been no injuries reported.
A hotel resident fell asleep after cooking in their room early Monday morning.
The Houston Fire Department arrived near Highway 290 and Pinemont Drive around 1:15 a.m. on Houston’s Northwest side.
Authorities arrived to the hotel and found a fire with heavy smoke on the third floor. The Houston Fire Department evacuated the entire hotel and were able to put the fire out with no injuries reported.
The Houston Fire Department says that after investigating, they found out that a resident was cooking in their room and fell asleep. That’s when the food and stove caught fire and the hotel sprinkler system went off. The sprinklers had flooded all three floors and due to the damage, the hotel was having to find other places for the residents to stay.
Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department were dispatched at approximately 4:30 a.m. to a report of a ringing fire alarm system on the 900 block of Embarcadero Del Mar, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
They found a fire-suppression sprinkler head had been activated and put out the blaze, Safechuck added.
Firefighters assisted with removal of water from the business, which had minor damage, he said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, Safechuck said.
The cause is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
King said Franklin Fire Department investigators are working with private investigators hired by the property insurer. Due to structural instability, they haven’t yet been able to access all areas of the building to complete their investigation. He said they hope to have more answers later this week.
The fire started on the lower level in the rear of the historic two-story building, located at 408 Main Street. King estimated damage at $300,000.
“While this was a big loss to our community, the damage could have been much worse,” he said. “A combination of early detection and notification, a quick response and solid tactical decisions by firefighters, and the automatic fire sprinklers led to a positive outcome.”
King said more fire sprinkler heads activated than investigators originally thought.
“At least four or five fire sprinkler heads activated on the first and second floors of the building, which helped to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings,” he said.

According to officials, firefighters from the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore were called to 11 Cricket Avenue Friday night at 7:24 on the report of a fire alarm.
Arriving crews found heavy smoke in the basement of the two-story building.
The incident commander declared a working fire, and all other Lower Merion fire companies responded.
A burning electrical panel was quickly controlled by both the internal sprinkler system and by firefighters.
The fire was declared under control in 50 minutes, and there were no injuries reported.
Chesapeake firefighters received the call for a commercial fire at 11:30pm at 1464 Mt. Pleasant Road. The businesses alarm company called 911 reporting audible alarm and sprinkler water flow.
The Fire Department arrived nine minutes after dispatch and found a strip mall, with an audible alarm and a smell of smoke coming from the restaurant. Crews had to force entry into the business after noticing smoke through the windows since the business was closed for the evening.
Upon entering, crews found a large amount of smoke and the sprinkler system was activated. The sprinkler system successfully put out the fire before crews entered the business. After firefighters checked the adjacent businesses and found no fire spread, the fire was marked out at 12:11am.
According to Chesapeake Fire Department, Shiki Sushi & Hibachi representatives are on scene evaluating the extent of damage to the business and believe they will be closed tomorrow. No other businesses were effected and there were no injuries.
Chesapeake Fire Marshals are conducting an investigation to determine what caused the fire.
The sprinkler system inside the building contained the fire. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and searched for trapped occupants while putting it out. Luckily, all occupants were able to safely evacuate the building without any injuries.
The cause of this fire remains under investigation by the Kingston Fire Department Fire Investigation team. 24 Broadway sustained minor smoke and fire damage but had significant water damage after the incident.
At 6:56 p.m., a single fire engine was dispatched to Buttermilk, located at 1715 Freedom Drive, to investigate an active fire alarm, authorities said.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered black smoke coming from the roof vent.
Authorities said that firefighters promptly upgraded to general alarm after seeing the smoke.
Firefighters had to force their way into the restaurant, which had already closed for the night, according to authorities.
Authorities said that a fire inside the restaurant’s kitchen was being held in check by a sprinkler system.
A hose was used to extinguish the remaining flames, and the fire was declared under control at 7:24 p.m., according to authorities.
The restaurant was vacant at the time, and there were no injuries.
The restaurant was deemed uninhabitable by the Naperville Transportation, Engineering and Development Team.
Authorities said that the fire caused $25,000 in damages.
“It was mostly water damage from the sprinkler system and the suppression efforts,” said Division Chief Daniel Smith.
The Lisle Woodridge Fire Department assisted.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
