Macon-Bibb fire crews responded to a blaze at a South Macon business on Monday.
Fire Chief Shane Edwards says it happened at Down River Load Solutions on Joe Tamplin Blvd.
Firefighters were dispatched around 10:40 a.m.
The first units to get to the scene were told that a machine had caught fire but the building’s sprinkler system extinguished most of it.
Firefighters executed fireground operations and no injuries were reported. The business took minimal damage.
Crews responded at 11 a.m. to a fire reported in a storage room at the Stars Rooftop and Grill Room, the Charleston Fire Department said in a Twitter post.
Sprinklers activated and contained the fire until the fire department arrived.
There were no injuries and firefighters reported minimal damage.
Firefighters arrived at the mosque around 1a.m Saturday morning. The fire was already being extinguished by the building’s emergency sprinkler system. Firefighters were able to control the blaze in about 30 minutes.
According to security footage, there was nobody inside at the time. No injuries were reported.
Investigators say there is about $50,000 in damages.
The Denver Fire Department responded to Empower Field at Mile High at about 2:15 p.m. MDT, Capt. Greg Pixley told The Denver Post. The fire was extinguished approximately 30 minutes later as firefighters and the stadium’s sprinkler system brought the blaze under control.
“This fire burned very hot. We’re lucky the sprinkler system started to hold the fire in check,” Pixley told the newspaper. “This was a significant fire.”
Stadium officials said in a statement on Twitter that the fire occurred in a construction zone near the East Club Lounge. Pixley said the fire ignited on the fourth level of the stadium and spread to the third-level seats, KDVR-TV reported. Smoke interrupted an event on the second floor that had about 100 people in attendance, but there are no reports of injuries, the television station reported.
Pixley said the sprinkler system was activated in the indoor seating area, but there was no sprinkler system over the exposed stadium seats, according to the Post.
That exposed the stadium’s plastic seats to the blaze.
“This type of plastic that the seats are composed of burns with not only significant ferocity, very large flames, but also produces a tremendous amount of black smoke,” Pixley told reporters.
Six rows of seats in two sections near the suites were destroyed, KCNC-TV reported.
Firefighters arrived to find that a fire sprinkler in the kitchen activated and successfully extinguished a fire – keeping the flames from spreading to the rest of the apartment. There were no injuries reported and damage was limited to the area around the stove.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is looking into an apartment fire Sunday evening.
The incident happened at 4800 East. 54th Street.

On Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 6:05 PM Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a fire alarm activation at 4800 E. 54th Street.
The first arriving unit discovered an apartment building with light smoke on the third floor, and the incident was upgraded to a structure fire. A fire was located in a third story apartment, with no residents present in the apartment. Other residents from the building had exited. The sprinkler system in the apartment had activated and contained the fire to a small area. The fire was quickly and completely extinguished, and the building was cleared of smoke. No injuries were reported, and several residents were displaced.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 4 fire trucks, 3 support vehicles, and 21 personnel. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Metro Communications, Sioux Falls Police Department, Patient Care EMS, and Mid-American Energy.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to test their smoke and CO detectors on a monthly basis.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was quickly extinguished at 505 Research Dr. after it activated the plant’s sprinkler system, according to public safety radio traffic.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire at this hour.
Officers of the Perry Police Department also responded.
There weren’t any reports of injuries.
According to officials, on Saturday morning around 11 a.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the Willow Manor at Fairland apartment complex for reports of a fire in the stairwell.
Firefighters discovered “there was a fire in the stairwell, especially between the second and third floors … there was a sprinkler activation, pretty heavy smoke conditions throughout the building,” fire department spokesman Pete Piringer told WTOP.
“We did evacuate some people. We did assist some of the other residents either sheltering in place, or getting out,” Piringer said. “But fortunately there were no injuries and the fire was extinguished pretty quickly.”
The cause of the fire may have been an improperly discarded cigarette.
“Apparently, some folks tend to smoke in that particular stairwell. And they improperly discarded one of the cigarette butts and caused the fire,” Piringer said. “Fortunately, the sprinkler system did keep the fire in check.”
Initial estimates of the damage are around $25,000 — not including water damage, Piringer said in a tweet Saturday afternoon.
At least 30 residents of the building will be temporarily displaced due to smoke or water damage.
“The Red Cross has been called in along with our Department of Health and Human Services Emergency Management Group to assist those residents. It appears as though at least, temporarily, initially, about 30 apartments (and) 30 residents will be affected,” Piringer told WTOP.
The university’s fire alarm and sprinkler systems both functioned properly and aided in a quick evacuation of the residence hall and the extinguishing of the fire. At this time, we are working with the student and Redlands fire authorities to determine the cause of the fire.
For their comfort, residents living in Grossmont Hall will be temporarily relocated while cleanup is conducted.
Firefighters responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m., and the fire was extinguished by 1:48 a.m.
According to Fire Chief, Pat Treloar, the fire was located in the seed area of the plant, and there is considerable damage to the conveyor belt.
Treloar also said the sprinkler system worked effectively, and helped prevent the fire from escalating.
