Sprinkler system contains electrical fire at restaurant (Hampton, NH)

Firefighters responded to a fire at a sports lounge and restaurant. The blaze was determined to have been caused by an electrical malfunction in the jukebox, according to Hampton Fire Chief Chris Silver. “The sprinkler system saved the building,” Silver said. “It did exactly what it was supposed to do and contained it right in the area of origin.”

Fire at manufacturing plant contained by sprinkler system (Sullivan, MO)

“This is a clear example of how sprinkler systems can help save property,” said Sullivan fire chief, Rich White, following an early morning fire at Sullivan Precision Metal Finishing. “The sprinkler system inside the manufacturing plant had contained the fire to the specific area. Our firefighters were able to finish extinguishing the fire and then provided overhaul/cleanup of the area, along with checking for any fire extensions.”

Off-campus apartment fire contained by sprinkler system (Ettrick, VA)

The blaze began in one of the off-campus apartments that was being used for storage. The building’s sprinkler system helped keep the fire from spreading to other units. Fire officials said the stove in the apartment was accidently turned on and lit items on the stove on fire. No injuries were reported and the students who live in the building were able to return to their apartments within hours of the fire.

Kitchen fire at college dorm controlled by sprinkler system (Philadelphia, PA)

A fire broke out in a fourth floor college dorm room late Saturday evening. According to House Dean Trish Williams, a resident was cooking, and a toaster had set off the fire. University Police Sergeant Lawrence Salotti said the building’s sprinkler system had been activated. All building occupants were evacuated, and there were no injuries.
