St. Catharines, ON, Canada – Sprinkler system activated for suspicious fire at sports bar and grill

Police and fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire at a bar on Glendale Avenue in Merritton early Monday.

St. Catharines firefighters were called to The Beach Sports Bar and Grill at 290 Glendale Ave. around 3:50 a.m. Monday.

The building was surrounded by yellow tape later that afternoon and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office was on scene investigating with Niagara Regional Police.Continue Reading »

Reno, NV – Sprinkler system extinguished kitchen fire inside casino restaurant; No injuries reported

The Reno Fire Department responded to a fire inside the Atlantis Casino on Saturday, September 1 at around 9:30 p.m.

Fire crews arrived on scene to find part of the kitchen for Bistro Napa restaurant inside the casino on fire.

Woodhaven, MI – Sprinkler system saves Tropical Smoothie and many other businesses from major fire

A store sprinkler system is credited for helping keep a business from going up in flames Wednesday night.

Fire broke out at about 11:10 p.m. inside Tropical Smoothie, 23112 Allen Road.

The Woodhaven Fire Department received a “water flow notification” for the location, which indicated the sprinkler system had been activated.Continue Reading »

Spring Hill, TN – Fire at BBQ restaurant suppressed by sprinkler system

Martin’s BBQ Joint, 55 South and the Salty Goat were evacuated Tuesday night after a fire broke out in one of the kitchens.  There were no injuries or structural damage to the building.  “The sprinkler system did it’s job – that’s what we have sprinklers in buildings for,” said Spring Hill Fire Chief Terry Hood.Continue Reading »
