South Montgomery County firefighters say paramedics found the woman in bed after a fire broke out just after 3am. They were called out there after an automatic alarm was triggered. When they pulled up, they found a small fire in a third floor room with a woman sleeping inside. They were quickly able to put out that fire with help from the sprinkler system. Firefighters tell Eyewitness News while they’re still working on determining a cause, they did find discarded cigarettes near the bed where the fire started.
