** FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTED – NO MEDIA COVERAGE **

Dispatched for a structure fire at an extended stay hotel.  Arrived with nothing showing from a 3-story occupied hotel. Staff stated that the fire was somewhere on the second floor. Continuing in the investigation we found the second floor hallway charged with smoke. We heard a sprinkler flowing water behind the first door we came too. Forced entry and found a fire that had been extinguished by the sprinkler system prior to our arrival. Only one sprinkler head had activated and contained the fire to the counter top and prevented its spread to the cabinets above. Sprinkler system was shut off and minimal fire damage was caused to the room. Minor smoke damage as well.
