Sprinkler system extinguishes apartment kitchen fire (Sedona, AZ)

Shortly before midnight fire crews were called to a structure fire in a multi-unit timeshare building. Upon arrival, fire crews found the fire had been extinguished by a single fire sprinkler head activation located in the kitchen of a ground floor unit.

A bathroom fire was quickly extinguished and caused minimal damage after a single fire sprinkler head activated and suppressed it. There was no active fire by the time fire fighters made it to the scene. Investigation by officials eventually led a juvenile resident to admit that he intentionally set fire in the bathroom.

Apartment sprinkler system puts out kitchen fire (Santa Rosa, CA)

Fire sprinklers activated when a flash fire occured in a downtown Santa Rosa apartment on Monday, December 3. The sprinklers helped control the fire, and police were called to the scene when a drug-making lab was discovered in the apartment.

An apartment building housing mostly elderly residents unintentionally caught fire when combustibles were stored too close to an operating gas stove top. A sprinkler head successfully operated slowing the fire from spreading to other areas of the apartment. No injuries were reported.

At about 6:01 p.m., Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services Department got a 9-1-1 call reporting a fire at an apartment on the sixth floor. The fire sprinkler system had successfully activated and put out the fire. No injuries were reported.

Fire sprinklers prove their worth during fire at student housing (Conway, SC)

Unattended cooking after a power outage sparked a fire that erupted in a third floor unit of the 68 unit, four story student housing building at Carolina Coastal University. The fire was quickly extinguished by a fire sprinkler system, saving lives and property. When the fire department arrived the fire was already out. No one was hurt.

Fire sprinkler system saves residents at off-campus apartment (Eugene, OR)

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire, but the fire was quickly put out by the sprinkler system. Resident’s were evacuated as a precaution and later were able to return to their homes. The fire comes on what is almost the year anniversiry of a fire that broke out at Courtside’s sister complex, Skybox.

Sprinkler puts out home fire caused by unattended candles (Ventura, CA)

First arriving units reported light smoke in the structure. Further investigation revealed an activated fire sprinkler system had extinguished the fire. The fire, which had originated on a fireplace mantel, appeared to have been started by unattended candles. No injuries to Firefighters or residents were reported as a result of this incident.

Sprinklers stop middle-of-night apartment fire (Portland, ME)

The sprinkler system at the Cumberland Park Place Apartments helped keep a small fire that started on the third story of the building from causing any significant damage. The Portland Fire Department was called to 457 Cumberland Ave. around 3:30 a.m. when a cigarette lit a small fire on a chair in the living room of on of Cumberland Park Place Apartment’s units. Deputy Chief Robert Wassick said the sprinkler system was a primary factor in preventing the fire from becoming any larger or causing more damage.
