A fire forced evacuations at a motel on San Antonio’s Southeast Side Friday morning. Two rooms were destroyed at the Super 8 in the 700 block of Hot Wells Boulevard near Interstate 37, a San Antonio Fire Department representative said. Hotel staff evacuated everyone in the motel and the sprinkler system kicked on well before firefighters arrived. Firefighters say the fire was actually out before they even got there. They went around checking for hot spots and called a second alarm as a precautionary measure. No one was hurt. Fire department investigators have ruled the fire accidental.
