The fire happened at about 3 a.m. at Madison-Kipp Corp., 1655 Corporate Center Drive, the Sun Prairie Fire Department said. The department received a water flow alarm from the plant, and when firefighters arrived on scene, they were told by employees that there had been an active fire that was believed to have been put out by the sprinkler system. “The first-in officer confirmed the sprinkler system had activated and put out the fire,” said Fire Chief Chris Garrison. “The fire department performed overhaul to prevent further damage and fire spread.” The fire was contained to one work area in the plant. The cause of the fire is under investigation; no damage estimate was given.
