Apartment Building, Residential Single sprinkler head contained apartment fire (Englewood, CO) February 10, 2012 viking210 Investigators say the fire was caused when a stove burner was left on high and items near the stove caught fire. The microwave above the stove was melting and kitchen cabinets were burning when a single sprinkler head activated and put out the fire. A smoke alarm in the apartment activated, but it was not until the sprinkler head went off that other alarms in the complex went off and the fire department was notified. No injuries.
