Apartment Building, Residential Rockford, IL – Sprinkler system activates to help control apartment fire; No injuries May 9, 2018 viking210 Rockford fire crews rushed to an apartment Sunday afternoon and rescued a man who was forced out onto his balcony by the smoke. The Rockford Fire Department responded at approximately 2 p.m. to an apartment complex on Trilling Avenue, near N. Main Street and Riverside Boulevard. The second floor sprinkler system activated in response to a fire. The resident ran out to the balcony where firemen helped him to safety. There were no injuries. The damage is estimated at $10,000.
