Firefighters were called to The Downtowner at 621 Market Avenue N at 5:48 a.m. for a fire in an occupant’s room. The building’s sprinkler system put out the flames, but the fire caused $15,000 in damage to the structure and $3,000 in damage to the contents. An occupant of the building was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, said Battalion Chief Steve Henderson.
