Nursing Home/Senior Living, Residential Kitchen fire extinguished by sprinkler system at senior apartment complex (Huntsville, TX) October 7, 2014 viking210 A kitchen fire Friday afternoon led to the forced evacuation of at least 42 people from the National Church Residence Parkview Place senior living center in downtown Huntsville. Firefighters responded to a call in the 1100 block of Avenue N after residents reported smelling smoke. “About 3 p.m. we got a call of the smell of smoke at the Parkview assisted-living facility,” Huntsville assistant fire chief John Hobbs said. “We arrived around 3:05 p.m. The building’s sprinkler system had already extinguished any fire. Ventilators were required, however, to ventilate the building of smoke.”
