Charlotte, NC – Sprinkler system activated for fire at apartment complex; No injuries reported

Charlotte Fire officials say they responded to an apartment fire in the SouthPark area Monday morning.

First responders said the fire originated in a living room at the Allure apartment complex in the 5700 block of Carnegie Boulevard. They said upon arrival, smoke was coming out of the 350-unit structure.

The fire was contained by a sprinkler head at the apartment of origin, and was under control in 34 minutes.

First-floor apartments around unit sustained some water damage. Firefighters said the estimated property/content loss was $55,000.

Medic also responded to the incident and said they did not transport patients.
