A fire that broke out on the stove in an apartment near 56th Street and Norton Avenue was knocked down by the unit’s fire sprinklers. The residents included an eight-month old baby, who was uninjured but brought to the hospital as a precaution.

According to Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay, “The fire was … contained by the apartment’s sprinkler system until our firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished it.” No serious injuries were reported.
