The fire was reported about 10 a.m. at the business on Industrial Park Drive. The company makes animal feed and products for biodiesel. At first, firefighters didn’t think they were fighting a big fire, but were hampered when the fire moved to the ceilings and interior walls of the building. Mountain Grove’s fire chief says the company’s sprinkler system may have saved the building. Nobody was hurt. By noon, fire crews were cleaning up and leaving the scene. Last October, another fire damaged a building at nearby Grisham Farms, which is a sister company to 3-G.
Nursing Home/Senior Living, Residential Wayne, NJ – Fire at senior condominium community contained by sprinkler system January 12, 2015 viking210 A “minor kitchen fire” at the Four Seasons Active Adult housing complex in Wayne Saturday was “contained by the sprinkler system and extinguished by the Wayne Fire Department,” Wayne Detective Captain Mark McGrath said. Authorities were called just after 11 a.m. on Jan. 10 and upon arrival, “observed heavy smoke down the hallway of the second level,” according to the police narrative. The resident and person who called 911 advised authorities “there was an active fire in her kitchen and that there was nobody else inside.” Moments later, Fire Chief 4 arrived on scene and was able to use the fire extinguisher to put out the flames, according to the narrative. Heavy smoke was vented out by the Wayne Fire Department once the fire was extinguished. All occupants of all four apartments were left under the care of the building supervisor and made proper arrangements to be picked up by family.

Fire investigators determined the fire was started by a candle that was tipped over.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control around 8:45 a.m. and said sprinklers were activated. Firefighters said the fire started near a washing machine and the restaurant was closed at the time. No one was hurt.

The fire was put out by the apartment buildings sprinkler system. Police say the fire occurred at approximately 9 a.m. at Wilbur Peck Court after the resident of one of a 2nd floor unit left for work leaving the Christmas tree lights on. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation but the Greenwich Fire Marshall’s Office says it most likely was caused by a broken Christmas tree light bulb.
Residential, Townhouse / Condominium Lexington Park, MD – Townhouse fire caused by carelessly discarded smoking materials put out by sprinkler system December 29, 2014 viking210 What authorities are calling “carelessly discarded smoking materials” sparked a fire in a St. Mary’s County home early Sunday morning, Dec. 28. The home’s sprinkler system activated quickly and extinguished the fire. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze occurred at a two-story, middle unit townhouse on F. Radford Lane in Lexington Park and was reported shortly after 7 a.m. “No one was home at the time of the fire,” stated Dfm. Caryn McMahon. “A neighbor smelled the odor of smoke and called 911. The fire originated in a small trashcan in the upstairs bedroom. The family has been temporarily displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.” Fifteen firefighters from Bay District and Patuxent Naval Air Station were dispatched to the one-alarm blaze. No injuries were reported.
Government/Military, Other-Government/Military Baltimore, MD – Fire at Maryland State Police data center contained by sprinklers December 27, 2014 viking210 State troopers in barracks across Maryland were left without access to central crime databases on Friday morning temporarily after a small fire in a generator room at Maryland State Police headquarters caused a power outage and knocked the data center offline. When the fire occurred, a sprinkler system turned on, the main generator stopped functioning and power was cut off, Russo said. The data center computers are housed in a separate building from the generators, and were not damaged, she said. No foul play was expected. Individual barracks did not lose power and retained access to their own computer systems, said Elena Russo, a police spokeswoman. The state police website was not accessible for several hours. Power had been restored as of Friday afternoon.

Residence Hall/Dormitory, Residential Lafayette, LA – Fire in campus residence hall extinguished with help from sprinkler system December 22, 2014 viking210 A fire in a University of Louisiana at Lafayette residence hall at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, was contained to a data equipment closet on the third floor. Campus police were called to Baker Hall after a fire alarm company said that an alarm was activated there. The sprinkler system in the data equipment room was activated prior to the fire department arriving. No injuries were reported and everyone was evacuated safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Apartment Building, Residential Muncie, IN – Sprinkler systems helps extinguish fire in loft apartment building December 12, 2014 viking210 Terry Moore, Muncie Fire Department battalion chief, said a woman was in the process of moving her mother into an apartment on the seventh (and top) floor of the former Roberts Hotel when she placed a bag of clothing on the stove — and apparently accidentally turned on a burner. The resulting fire was for the most part extinguished by a ceiling sprinkler. Fire damage was minimal. “The sprinkler did what it is supposed to do,” the battalion chief said. A few tenants, some in wheelchairs, stayed outside the building for several minutes.
