Crews responded to the property at 300 Adams Ave. around 10 a.m. and found the fire was held in check and extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system, Megotz said. The business was able to remain open without disruption and no injuries were reported, he added.
Firefighters checked the building for extensions, performed overhaul and ventilated the basement for smoke, Megotz said.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire broke out in the maintenance bay area but was quickly contained by the building’s sprinkler system. Multiple units responded, and no injuries were reported.

Crews in Mount Pleasant are responding to a reported fire Sunday.
Firefighters are at the Bridgeside Apartments at Patriots Point this morning, according to the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.
The department said crews were working a fire on the fifth floor. People were asked to avoid the area while emergency personnel respond to the situation.
“The building’s sprinkler system held the fire at bay, giving crews time to search for victims and stretch hose lines to fully extinguish the flames,” department officials said. “Our Fire Marshal Division is currently investigating the cause of the fire. Crews were also able to restore the sprinkler system before clearing the scene.”
Firefighters in Evansville have gotten an early morning warehouse fire under control.
According to Central Dispatch, eight fire units were called to the 100 block of North Kentucky Avenue for a Commercial Structure Fire just after 7 Sunday morning.
They say the sprinkler system kept the fire contained until crews arrived.
Dispatch says that the fire has been tapped out as of 8 a.m., and EFD says they were able to put the fire out around 45 minutes after the 911 call.
Evansville EMA says the fire crews quick work was able to keep the building from being destroyed.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
A malfunctioning HVAC system caught on fire shortly before 7:45 a.m., according to the assistant chief of Norfolk Fire-Rescue. The sprinkler system activated and helped extinguish the fire.
No one was injured.

Crews responded to a commercial fire on the 4400 block of West Ashlan Ave. on Thursday around 7:30 a.m.
Firefighters say a small kitchen fire at a popular restaurant, the Legendary Pho Kitchen, activated the sprinkler system, extinguishing the flames before they arrived on the scene. Although the fire was minor and no injuries were reported, the sprinkler activation caused damage throughout the business.
This incident, fire crews say, prompted the restaurant to close. The business will be closed until necessary repairs are made. An expected opening time has not been provided.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Classes were cancelled Thursday after a fire broke out before the school day started, the Pacific Rim School District said. The school has about 1,300 students in Grades 8 through 12.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Staff and the few students on site escaped the building without incident and the situation was quickly brought under control, the district said.
The school’s water-suppression system activated immediately and the Port Alberni Fire Department was at the scene within minutes.
Fire Chief Mike Owens said the fire appears to have started in a classroom space adjacent to the school’s auto mechanics area.
Owens said the fire damage was confined to the classroom of origin.
“A lot of the fire was knocked down by the sprinkler system, so there was quite a bit of water involved,” he said.
He said the school is a concrete structure, so it handled the water better than a wooden building would have.
Fire investigators remained on scene through Thursday morning.
The building was closed for the remainder of the day to allow for cleanup.
Port Alberni firefighters received assistance at the fire from the Sproat Lake Volunteer Fire Department, the Beaver Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Cherry Creek Fire Department.
The school district said it was “deeply grateful” for the quick response from the fire departments, “as well as the quick actions of our staff in ensuring everyone’s safety and minimizing damage.”
Firefighters responded to 1522 N. Gordon St., north of Sunset Boulevard, just before 11 a.m. Sunday, according to the LAFD.
“Firefighters made entry and determined there was a sprinkler activation on the 14th floor. Upon arriving on the fire floor, crews located a ‘fire out,'” the LAFD said.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters remained on the scene to conduct salvage operations and remove water that had accumulated due to the sprinklers.
The call came in at 9:15 a.m. from an automatic alert from the fire alarm company, and firefighters found smoke coming from a ground-floor office space.
There were minimal flames, and the fire was contained. Authorities say heavy smoke activated the fire suppression sprinkler system.
The airport’s terminal was temporarily evacuated, and after the fire was put out, air quality tests were conducted, and the terminal reopened within an hour.
Since the terminal is open, airport operations will continue as normal, but it is suggested to contact your airline for the most up-to-date flight information.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Dutch Fork Fire Rescue units responded to Spring Hill High School Tuesday after a dryer caught fire.
According to the school, the fire happened around 10 a.m. when a dryer in the kitchen area caught fire and activated the sprinkler system.
Firefighters said the fire was contained in the dryer at the back of the school.
Administrators at the school confirmed all students and staff were evacuated and they are accounted for.
No injuries were reported.
Units are working on removing the dryer and ventilating the building.
