Apartment Building, Residential Three fires extinguished thanks to sprinkler systems (Las Cruces, NM) October 15, 2014 viking210 Over the last three weeks, fire sprinklers have eliminated three separate apartment fires in Las Cruces – September 26, October 3, and October 7. In every single one of the fires, the cause was unattended cooking, and in two of the incidents, the residents were not aware that the fire had begun. According to the Las Cruces Fire Department, the sprinklers activation in each of the incidents kept property losses minimal and prevented any injuries.

The incident, which is still under investigation, began in a part of the school which is under construction. Fire crews as well as the fire sprinkler system contained and eliminated the fire, and no injuries were reported.

The fire began at approximately 11:30, and the children, who were eating their lunches in the cafeteria, were evacuated safely. The fire sprinkler activated in the kitchen and extinguished the flames before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
Hotel / Motel, Hotel / Restaurant Fire controlled by fire sprinklers at hotel (Albuquerque, NM) November 1, 2013 viking210 Sixteen fire crew units and thirty-seven firefighters responded to a fire at a downtown hotel on Wednesday, October 30 morning. The hotel’s fire sprinkler system activated in the room where the fire began, containing the blaze to that room. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and there were no injuries.
Hotel / Motel, Hotel / Restaurant Sprinkler system helped contain hotel kitchen fire (Albuquerque, NM) June 11, 2012 viking210 A fire in a downtown Albuquerque hotel forced a brief evacuation of its guests and staff. The Albuquerque Fire Department says no occupants were injured when a fire forced them to leave the Hyatt hotel on Tijeras NE early Monday morning. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:30 a.m. and put out the blaze within 20 minutes. A hotel sprinkler system helped contain the fire. Fire officials say the fire was in a dishwashing unit but the cause has not yet been determined.
