Manufacturing facility fire halted by sprinkler system (Lombard, IL)

A metal fabrication facility had a fire occur early Wednesday, June 11. No employees were present when the fire occurred, but the building was equipped with fire sprinklers, which contained the fire.

Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Howell said about the incident, “Basically the sprinkler system kept it in check. It could have been much worse.”

Investigating units are still determining the cause of the fire, but initial investigation shows the fire does not appear to be suspicious. No injuries were reported.

Sprinklers help save lives and property at distribution facility fire (Lima, OH)

A fire on the roof of a warehouse was reported shortly after midnight on Saturday. With the assistance of the facility’s fire sprinkler, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within 20 minutes. All of the employees present were able to evacuate safely, and no firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Golf club fire halted by sprinkler system (Kelowna, BC)

At around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, fire crews were alerted to a fire at a golf club pro shop. When they arrived, they discovered a fire burning on the outside of the building. According to investigators, the cause of the fire appears to be an improperly disposed cigarette. The facility’s fire sprinkler system had contained the fire to the building’s exterior, and no injuries were reported.
