Sprinkler systems helps control flames at industrial facility (Troy, MI)

A wall was blown out, but no injuries were reported at the scene of a fire on Thursday night.  According to a press release issued Friday, firefighters saw a portion of the rear, west side wall that appeared to have blown out from an explosion inside the building, and smoke showing. Once inside, firefighters found heavy smoke conditions, but the building’s fire sprinkler system appeared to have contained the majority of the fire. Damage was confined to the rear warehouse portion of the building. None of the nearby businesses were affected as a result of the incident.

A single fire sprinkler extinguished the fire that occurred in a warehouse the morning of September 4. Fire crews came to the scene after a fire alarm notification came through a private alarm company. The fire was limited to a diesel fire pump and its electronic controls. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and there were no injuries reported.

Warehouse fire limited thanks to fire sprinklers (Somerset, PA)

A fire that broke out in an electronic recycling warehouse caused 30 fire firefighters from four county fire departments to respond. They arrived to find a small fire which was limited due to the warehouse’s fire sprinklers.

“Basically the sprinkler system knocked down the fire,” reported Somerset First Leutenant Bart Close. “We took about 10 more minutes to finish the knockdown.”

There was minimal damage to the building, and no one was reported injured.

Firefighters arrived at the 50,000-square-foot building after the fire alarm went off at 3:57 a.m. to find the sprinkler system had kicked on, Acting Deputy Chief Capt. Paul Walsh said.  “It took us a few minutes to find it, but we found a car on fire in an inside dock. The sprinkler system pretty much handled it and we were able to quickly put it out.”
