Suspicious apartment fire contained by sprinkler system (Manchester, CT)

According to a statement released by Manchester Fire Chief Robert Bycholski, residents in the complex reported a fire at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday morning.  Bycholski said the unit’s sprinkler system was able to contain the fire, and when firefighters began to search for any hidden embers or additional areas of fire they noticed what appeared to be several other attempts in the unit to start a fire and called police.Continue Reading »

Senior living facility fire contained by sprinklers (Salt Lake City, UT)

A fire broke out on the 10th floor of a senior living facility, and fire sprinklers were able to keep the flames in check. According to Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay, “The fire was … contained by the apartment’s sprinkler system until our firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished it.” No serious injuries were reported.Continue Reading »

Fire sprinklers help keep condominium residents safe (Newport Beach, CA)

A fire that broke out in the laundry room of a condominium was contained by the unit’s fire sprinklers. Jennifer Schulz, of the Newport Beach Fire Department, reported that the residents of the home were alerted to the fire when a smoke alarm went off and were able to escape before firefighters arrived because the fire sprinklers helped keep the fire from spreading.Continue Reading »
