Fire crews say materials were placed on a stove in one of the unit and caught fire. That fire spread to the kitchen in the unit. The resident was able to get out safely, and the sprinkler system was able to extinguish the flames.

“The fortunate thing here is that the sprinklers did it’s job. Kept the fire contained to the one unit,” said Chad Fitzgerald with the Clovis Fire Department.
