Fire contained by sprinklers at engineered wood products manufacturer (Medford, OR)

Sparks from a grinding operation started a fire that ignited in two connected sawdust bins at Boise Cascade. “Really the initial knockdown happened with the automatic sprinkler system,” said Arlen Blenkush, District No. 3 battalion chief. The fire was contained to the inside of the bins and did not damage the structure’s exterior.

Fire at manufacturing plant contained by sprinkler system (Sullivan, MO)

“This is a clear example of how sprinkler systems can help save property,” said Sullivan fire chief, Rich White, following an early morning fire at Sullivan Precision Metal Finishing. “The sprinkler system inside the manufacturing plant had contained the fire to the specific area. Our firefighters were able to finish extinguishing the fire and then provided overhaul/cleanup of the area, along with checking for any fire extensions.”
