Montville, CT – Overnight fire at packaging manufacturer limited by sprinkler system

An overnight fire at Rand-Whitney Containerboard caused minimal damage and no injuries despite extreme cold, according to Fire Marshal Ray Occhialini.  Occhialini said firefighters were called to the 370 Route 163 company about 1 a.m. after a machine that rolls and cuts the company’s cardboard liner paper malfunctioned, causing the paper to tangle and catch fire.Continue Reading »

Authorities say a fire caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a chemical plant, but no injuries were reported.

A Tulsa business was briefly evacuated Thursday morning after a fire inside an oven. Firefighters got the call before 7 a.m. to Sonoco Products in the 10000 block of East 52nd Street.

Cincinnati, OH – Sprinkler system keeps fire from spreading at woodworking operation

Cincinnati firefighters say a sprinkler system helped keep a fire at a Linwood business from spreading.
