Sprinklers contains basement fire at historical hotel (Prescott, AZ)

A sprinkler put out a fire that started in the hotel’s basement and kept it from reaching an oiled hardwood floor in the room directly above, according to Prescott Fire Department Fire Investigator Len DeJoria. Hotel utility room fire contained by sprinkler system (West Yellowstone, MT)

“A water heater was the cause of the fire,” HBFD Assistant Fire Chief Shane Grube said. The pan on the bottom of a water heater in the hotel’s utility room got too close to the floor, which caused the fire. “The sprinklers began to discharge in the utility room and after some investigating, we found the burn pattern was underneath the water heater,” Waldron said.Continue Reading »

Hotel laundry room fire contained by sprinkler system (Bakersfield, CA)

More than 400 people were evacuated from the Bakersfield Marriott after a fire broke out in the laundry room.  Bakersfield Fire Department crews were sent out to the hotel at about 7:30 a.m. regarding the fire.By the time crews arrived, the fire had been contained by the fire sprinkler system at the hotel. Continue Reading »
